Stephen K. Greene
Stephen graduated from Washington and Lee University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science with Special Attainments in Commerce in Accounting. Prior to law school, he worked at Price Waterhouse, New York, New York, and was a Certified Public Accountant. He then returned to Virginia and graduated from University of Virginia Law School in 1988. While at Virginia, Stephen was a member of the Virginia Tax Review, where he served as Managing Editor,
Stephen's practice focuses on estate planning and probate, gift and estate tax planning, and advising individuals on establishing and administering trust and estates.
Prior to starting his own firm in 2008, Stephen was a tax lawyer for Colonial Properties Trust for 6 years. Before that he was a partner at Bradley Arant Rose and White.
Stephen is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, where he has served on the executive committee as the chair of the Business Law Section, and is also a member of the Alabama State Bar and the American Bar Association.
Stephen also has a Masters of Theological Studies from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University.
Ben S. Nye
Ben graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Arkansas in 2010, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and gave campus tours to prospective students. Before attending law school, Ben was a leadership consultant and associate director of communications for Sigma Nu Fraternity, Inc. in Lexington, Virginia. He graduated from Washington and Lee School of Law in 2018 where he was a member of the Washington and Lee Law Review, Omicron Delta Kappa honorary society, and was president of the Christian Legal Society. Ben also interned for Magistrate Judge Robert S. Ballou of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
Before joining Stephen K. Greene, LLC, Ben practiced employment and financial services litigation with firms in Alabama and Arkansas for nearly six years. As a litigator, Ben second chaired bench trials, took numerous depositions, and defended employers before the EEOC, FINRA, and state human rights commissions. Ben now focuses his practice on estate planning and probate. Ben enjoys working with individuals to understand and create their estate plans.
Ben is a member of the Alabama Bar Association, Birmingham Bar Association, and Arkansas Bar Association. Ben is married to Madison (who is also an attorney) and they have two wonderful children. When not in office, Ben does his best to spend as much time outdoors as possible.
